PC-PlusPowered Cylinder Plus SeriesA significant step up from the already fantastic PCi subwoofers. The PC-Plus, as with many of our subs, has a modest and subtle exterior design which belies the interior of a brutally powerful, supremely accurate beast. The same sort of compact amp configuration as our PCi, but with the awesome SVS "Plus" woofer, a staggering 525 watt BASH digital hybrid amp, and the "Tri-power" port variable tuning system adopted from the top-of-the-line PC-Ultra. Good as they are, you would need nearly two of the PCi subwoofers to equal the lowest bass capability of the PC-Plus line. But it's not magic, it's simply the physics (and economics) of providing an even more capable woofer than the ISD in our PCi subs, two hundred watts more dedicated amp power, and LOTS more finely tuned vent space. Only the vaunted PC-Ultra is a step up from here in powered cylinder subs. On a pure price/performance basis, the PC-Plus subs below are untouchable. Each of the three sizes has its own flavor, but are variations on the same theme. Smaller equals the most potent for music but sacrifices some depth. Taller is the deepest of all, but shaves off a bit of impact on upper bass. The middle size is “just right” for many with a near-optimal blend of depth and output. |
